BRISTOW, OK – Small business owner and Bristow resident John Knecht (pronounced “connect”) announced today his bid for the State Senate District 12. Knecht is a lifelong Republican, native Oklahoman and Cherokee citizen. Knecht served his country as a U.S. Navy Airman stationed at Tinker AFB under TACAMO operations of the U.S. Navy Strategic Communications Wing One (STRATCOM). After serving in the U.S. Navy, John started his farrier business while attending Oklahoma State University.
“I am excited to get a truly conservative message to the people of District 12,” said Knecht. “It’s not enough that our Senator is a Republican – we need a legislator who will actually vote the conservative values of his constituents.”
Regarding his challenge against the current leader of the State Senate, Pro Tempore Senator Brian Bingman, Knecht commented, “No doubt this is David going against Goliath. But last time I checked, David won.”
Knecht then described the reasons why he felt the need to unseat Sen. Bingman. “When you have a so-called Republican Senator that votes to implement Obamacare, supports Common Core, and voted for the National Popular Vote, it’s time for a change, a conservative change.”
